For editing we took turns doing it altogether. Sinead and I made a rough draft in the beginning and cut out all the glitches and mistakes in the recordings. I then created a new file and took out all the lip smacks and unnecessary breathe intakes. I added in the music in the background and made a rough estimate of where the natural breaks could be. Our lecturer overlooked some of this and suggested longer pauses as Sarah’s accent was very strong and a listener may struggle to grasp the story.
After I told the group of the advise Sinead Jenny and I spent 2 hours editing, creating more natural pauses to ensure Sarah’s voice sounded clear and the narrative was coherent to still captivate the audience with the story.

I really enjoyed this part of the assignment, as we got to use software we had never seen before which allowed us to make mistakes and learn as we went along. Editing was extremely interesting with the two girls as we were able to figure out different aspects and enhancements to our project together. We each got a turn at trying out various things, one simple thing I wouldn’t have noticed was ensuring that the sound was the same level in both ears. Jenny raised this issue to us and we pressed many different things until we discovered the mixer to fix the issue.
